    Harmonica (Blues 1/2/3) - £64 per 10 week term,
    Course Content: This is an ideal course for anyone who has ever wanted to learn to play the harmonica. Students will learn basic tablatue, rhythm techniques, improvising to 12-bar blues and musical expression. It could just be the best Harmonica course around.

  • Diatonic Harmonica classes at Morley College, Waterloo Harmonica Level 1 – Spring Term, Wednesday 6pm to 7.30, beginning in January 2012. 0207450 1889 to enrol.

    Spring Term is suitable for intermediate players, that is: anyone who can already bend a note. The course will show you how to move forward in your playing by using the blues scale in second and third positions. You will also work on intermediate technique, looking at tongue blocking, double stops, trills and throat vibrato. Theory will be explained in the context of improvisation.

    Harmonica Level 1 Course (MTW11A) at Morley College is accepting intermediate students from Wednesaday 14 January, 6pm.

    If you would like to get deeper into second position and chugging, and learn about third position and tongue blocking, along with a foundation in music theory for harmonica players, join us for 9 weeks for £59 (£47 concs).

    You will need diatonic harmonicas in C and A (or you can buy them from the teacher).

    The Sutton Blues Collective - Good Hope Hospital Social Club, Bedford Rd., Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands - meets on the second Wednesday of every month. It's a club for devotees of acoustic blues, mainly guitar, but harmonica players are more than welcome to sit in and jam along with them. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Yorkshire

  • Daytime and evening classes (and private tuition) available at different times/locations throughout the year in South Wales, The Welsh Marches and rural Herefordshire. Scotland

  • Blues and traditional diatonic classes are being held at the Glasgow Fiddle Workshop on a Monday night durig term times. The teacher is Colin McNab.

  • Moothie and beginner harmonica classes are being held by Dave Lorimer in Aberdeen where Scottish Cultures & Traditions ran Moothie 1 last year. They are now rolling out a beginners harmonica course and a Moothie 2. More here.

  • Niall Cruithne is teaching taditional harmonica at the Toolboth Arts Centre, Stirling Scotland. Contact details are here.

  • The Scots Moothie Group has grown from the ALP Scots Music Group Moothie Class in Edinburgh. The Group meet every two weeks, usually on Mondays, in Sandy Bell's pub to play many of the tunes listed below. The link gives some of the repertoire as well as dates for sessions or meetings.

While the demand is mostly blues and folk he has taught a wide range of styles on both diatonic and chromatic.
