NHL - Diary of Harmonica Events, Meetings and Contests.

Check Harmonica Events for 2008

The NHL run a range of events including:
  • An annual festival incorporating the contest, workshops, open mike, jams, and the AGM, usually held in October.
  • A Spring Festival or Hoolie similar to the festival but with a greater opportunity for everyone to perform. A relaxed event where players of all levels and styles can mix, talk and play.
  • A Blue Saturday is an occasional event consisting of a structured day of blues tuition followed by an evening of playing with a live band.
  • Local area events are organised and run by NHL members. They are more informal events with an emphasis on playing, local networking and an exchange of information and help. If you would like to do one please contact us.

Where possible, items in the Diary are linked to more detailed information on other pages.

The Friends of the NHL section of the web site contains web pages with information on the leading artists which support the activities of the NHL by supporting our events and contributing to Harmonica World, our magazine. Artists like Harry Pitch, Lee Shankey, Brendan Power, Adam Glasser etc - biographies, recordings, gigs ....

The Harmonica Gig Guide is a page where you can find links to where you can see the leading players at work.

Venues where you can watch or take part in open gigs and jam sessions are collected on the Jams page in regional groupings.

Venues where you might be able to see harmonica music of any type will be collected on a regional basis and published on a page which is yet to be written.

Please let us know of any other types of events we ought to add to this list
