Course Details

We have an excellent line-up of tutors and support this year.

We will have Chris Collis (and a small band!) to accompany you, and our celebrity tutor - Adam Glasser! You may have heard Adam's brilliant sessions at the H2008 Festival in October 2008. He will cover jazz improvisation on the chromatic - how to play round complex chord changes, chromatic harmonica technique, plus, breathing exercises, and how to organise your own music practice sessions. You can find out more about Adam Glasser on this web site. Barbara Tate will cover music theory and practice, and Gerry Ezard will provide further chromatic harmonica sessions.

The weekend will cater for everyone from beginners to advanced players. Playing technique, reading music, performance and microphone technique, playing with an accompanist and with a CD backing will be covered, and this year players can practice playing basic standards, Latin & Jazz, with a band. Practice sheet music and a CD will be mailed out in advance. Players can also use their own music.

As in previous years there will be a Saturday evening concert when everyone will have the opportunity to play in front of an audience.

We have planned for a maximum of 30 attendees to give plenty of opportunity for individual tuition and playing. If you are interested in reserving a place at this weekend please let Gerry Ezard, or Steve Dooley, know as soon as possible, and we will reserve you a place. Booking forms will be sent out later.

In spite of increased costs we have managed to keep the cost of the weekend down to £70 for NHL Members and £80 for non-NHL Members, which represents superb value for a weekend course.
