NHL - Chromatic Weekend, June 21-22, 2014
The NHL Chromatic Weekend will be held over the weekend of 21-22 June 2014 at an exciting new location.
Hillscourt is a delightful venue located in leafy South Birmingham, near to Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. It not only offers conference facilities but also has 55 en-suite bedrooms. It is situated within 25 acres of pretty gardens and is directly next door to the Lickey Hills from which there are breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
For more information on the venue click here.
Registration will be from 9.00am on 21 June with the programme commencing at 9.45am. There will be 4 workshops running in parallel on Saturday with 2 sessions before lunch and 2 sessions after lunch, followed by an evening concert. Sunday will begin in a similar manner but with informal performances on Sunday afternoon and the weekend will draw to a close around 4.30pm.
The programme will include many familiar names including Chris Collis and Gerry Ezard leading 'Playing with the Band', Adam Glasser leading 'Jazz and Improvisation' and Viola Barends nurturing beginners and more experienced players wanting to develop new skills. Additional workshops will include masterclasses, advanced techniques and harmonica maintenance. There will be a full stage amplification set-up and advice on microphone technique and equipment.
As usual, music and backing tracks will be provided in advance for a range of abilities. This will be distributed electronically in April to give ample time for practice before the event itself. Please state at the time of booking if you don't have access to email.
We are pleased to be supported by Seydel, Hohner and Suzuki Europe.
